DashPass Dinner

We intended on having leftovers tonight, but as it got closer and closer to dinner time, collectively we decided we would rather order from DoorDash.

I’m not sure I ever noticed that their delivery fee rates jump during peak times, but I did tonight. Normally we consider which food to order by seeing which ones have the smaller delivery charges. I didn’t think $2.99 was a bad price to pay to have our meal delivered. However, as I was selecting my meal, the rate jumped to $6.99 because it was “peak time.”

I know, it’s ONLY $4, but c’mon! Jennifer, who I think loves DoorDash more than anyone, said she had a solution. If we signed up for the DashPass, we’d no longer have a delivery charge, and we get half off the service fee! OK. It only counts for orders over $15, but what is less than that anyway?

Yes, there is a $9.99 monthly fee that goes along with the DashPass, but just on our first order, we saved $10.11! We’re already ahead!

We ordered from Chili’s, and I chose a Rack of Ribs coated in a Honey-Chipotle Sauce with Fries and Roasted Sweet Corn (on the cob just the way I like it)! I didn’t pay attention to what everyone else ordered because I was too busy stuffing my face. I was going to get a half-rack, but then my side would’ve changed to Coleslaw. There really was no choice.

Honey-Chipotle Ribs with Corn and Fries
Feb. 19, 2019 – Honey-Chipotle Ribs with Sweet Roasted Corn and Fries from Chili’s.

Overall, it was a very satisfying meal, and I was very happy with the ribs and corn. The fries didn’t survive the trip as well as I had hoped, but I barely noticed. 🤪

If you haven’t tried DoorDash, use this link to get $7 off your next order. Yes, I get a $20 credit if you use it, too. 😁👍🏼
